yCapacity_Trade Information System
The European natural gas market has lately undergone a few major changes in a very short time frame. Competition among gas companies has increased, and so has the trade and transport flexibility. Transport networks and underground storage operators now communicate with dozens of clients, sign a variety of transport and storage contracts (including the shortest ones valid for 24 hours), transport and store natural gas in varying amounts and in different directions, as well as trade free capacities.
Moreover, EU regulations and binding recommendations of European gas unions place additional requirements upon the gas transport and storage network companies. These are primarily oriented on the customer, and require the companies to provide access to trade conditions, transport capacities and current gas prices to their clients.
Based on these market changes and trade requirements YMS Group developed a specific trade information system, yCapacity. yCapacity helps trade dispatchers to trace real-time gas transmissions, calculate volumes of transmitted and stored gas to customers according to their contracts every day, balance customer accounts daily, evaluate transmitted and stoged gas volumes at the end of the gas trading day and recalculate capacities according to a variety of criterions.
In addition, the public portal yCapacity contains several applications, which help the customers to monitor real-time gas flow. Customers can use the portal to log in to their personal customer account and monitor its balance. Moreover, if they are interested in more contracts, they can define their requirements and calculate the cost of gas transmission or storage online using an interactive cost calculator.
