Forests open to new technologies
YMS, a. s., a member of the YMS & GCWare Group, stands behind the solution WebGIS that is the main topic of an article published in the magazine „Vojenské lesy“.
This magazine is regularly published by Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic, state-owned enterprise, and is aimed on informing the employees of an organization about news that can be useful for their work.
Mr. Miroslav Čongrády, author of an article, speaks of benefits WebGIS brought to daily work in the forests, especially in timber mining.
WebGIS allowed the forest workers to realize plans and proposals directly in the woods without need to come back to the offices. This is the way how to work on the optimization of the company’s operations, for example there is a record about every single piece of timber that is taken out from the forests. There are also bonus application features like 3D map view and traveling distance calculator.
Particularly challenging work on the project and also everyday hard work in the forests is shown in the project motto used by forest workers: „Someone thinks in space, but we work in this space.“
