Business Need/Reason
The problem was in confusion of geographic and non-geographic data. Fragmentation of GIS systems on individual departments /other GIS SW, various data formats, various working practices/. Inconsistent way of whatsoever, confusion, non-conception. Lack of transparency in the systems and data led to the need of study realization in resolving this situation.
Solution Overview
Conception proposal of GIS data information across whole organization (Sharjah Municipality). The proposed system of simplification of both data types and incorporate SW platforms. Proposal of conception data transfer, of maintenance and development of data set incorporate database storage.
Results
Conception has brought possibility of workflow compensation and modernization on road network development, and by that also better and faster prediction of (potential) critical places or areas within this network and to plan building works and traffic control more efficiently.
