Slovak Caves Administration (Slovenská správa jaskýň, Liptovský Mikuláš) provides protection of all caves in Slovak Republic and its safe and long term sustainable usage.
Business Need/Reason
Major problem was data disunion in local archives and these were not shared with more users what made situation at analysis creation and data search more difficult.
Solution Overview
IIS SSJ is created upon more subsystems: Geographic information system (GIS), subsystem Document Management (DMS), specific application like Main Tasks Plan and Caves Attendance. System is based upon portal access, users enter to system through Intranet. Portal is not only an access gate to the entire system but it solves also entire system administration and access available applications to users.
Results
We interconnected technical and geographic data what has created one unified central database without duplicities. SSJ reached faster access to data from caves attendance system, possibility to analyze it in geographic system and such backgrounds shall further be used by company managers at their decision making.
