SVP broadens the Mobile TIS solution
Slovenský vodohospodársky podnik (Slovak Water Management Company), a joint-stock company, (hereinafter the “SVP”) has decided to broaden the Mobile TIS system from YMS Group to the whole company.
So far, there has been a pilot operation of the system only in a branch plant in Piešťany. Based on another agreement with SVP this system will be used in other three branch plants and in the company headquarters.
The system monitors the flood situation and in case of a change in the flood level it reports this change, through an SMS message, to responsible employees of SVP or competent mayors of interested communities.
The Mobile TIS is a web application for checking the situation and flow rate of watercourses of the Slovak Republic by means of a mobile phone or the Internet browser by authorized users of the Technical Information System (TIS SVP) from YMS Group.
Slovenský vodohospodársky podnik is an administrator of watercourses and river basins in Slovakia, which makes it a strategically important state-owned company. It takes care of watercourses and tangible investment assets built on them and it also takes care of the quantity and quality of the surface and underground waters. SVP operates nationwide with four branch plants established on a basis of natural river basins. It administers watercourses in the length of 32,738 km, 287 water tanks, 2,811 km of protective dams, and a sewage network in the length of 1,812 km. The total river basin area covers 49,015 km2.
