Vulnerable citizens with yLocator
The City of Martin, in cooperation with YMS and mobile provider Orange, put in two-month testing operation the solution yLocator to monitor movement and location of older and vulnerable citizens.
Vulnerable citizens will carry a mobile device, which they can use, in need, to signal emergency. By pressing the "panic button" they send an electronic notification to signal alarm to the dispatcher.
Dispatcher of the Local Police Department receives the alarm signal on the dispatcher application yLocator, and can immediately localise the particular person in need. The dispatcher can contact the person via his or hers mobile device and contact emergency rescue. The rescue service receives the precise location of the citizen in need and can target the rescue operation accordingly.
