YMS Group Team among ICT Champions!

At the prestigious ICT Football Challenge 2009, which hosts sports teams from a variety of IT and telecommunications companies YMS Group football team won a fantastic 4th place. And as a bonus, also the post of the master of spontaneous entertainment for the competing teams as well as for the onlookers – during the daylong competition and during the wild afterparty.

Twenty-seven strong football teams from the largest and most important IT and telecommunications companies operating in Slovakia participated in this year’s ICT Football Challenge. On May 16, professionals and IT specialists took off their ties and swapped the usual meeting rooms and laptops for the indoor playgrounds of the Bratislava’s PKO hall. They represented the colours of their companies and fought to play out of their four basic groups. Even though YMS Group competed in the group of the future winner of the whole tournament, their great play moved them all the way until the semi-finals. The players persuaded with their sports prowess and their high disposition, and left the sports fight with a diploma and a post of one of four next year’s ICT Football Challenge 2010 favourite teams.

Sports performance, however, was not the only thing that YMS Group contributed to this championship. YMS Group’s football players left a mark behind thanks to the comedy talent of a few members of the company’s team. “Petko and Patko from YMS Group” offered a continuous stream of funny performances and thus cared for the daylong entertainment of both the rivals and the onlookers. Their entertainment continued at the after party, where they became the unofficial helpers during the performances of a master among Slovakia’s magicians. YMS Group thus enriched the daylong marathon of sport by a spontaneous marathon of entertainment, which even earned the team an informal invitation to a football exhibition.

In the light of this year’s performance of the YMS Group football team the commitment for the next ICT Football Challenge 2010 seems a bit clearer. As a favourite in their next year’s basic group, the aim will have to be to prove to all rivals and colleagues that the sports and entertainment performance of the YMS Group team does not lag behind the business one.
