YMS Successfully Implemented Mobile ITIS

System can work directly in field with their notebook not only with the GIS-database by means of a powerful GeoGIS client in off-line mode, but also with other selected applications and modules of ITIS system. During the work with graphic data on PDA, they can use the comfortable and easy IntelliWhere OnDemand environments from Intergraph company. Along with this, the necessity of paper documentation and manually maintained records of detected changes has been eliminated.

The unique solution utilizes mainly the properties of Oracle database, on which the main data storage of the system has been based. The Oracle Personal Edition database has been used for customers working with notebook in the off-line mode and it is a fully-fledged single-user version. Solution of such design allows the use of nearly full functionality of all IT IS applications contained in the solution also in off-line mode. The Oracle 10g Lite database has been used for special applications for customers working with PDA devices, where in the first project stage the solution has been focused on measurement acquisition for employees of the anti-corrosion protection department direct in-field. Due to the use of identical database platform on different types of devices, an extraordinary consistent solution has been achieved.

An element of the implemented solution is a two-way synchronization, which allows not only a generation of local database copy destined for in-field work, but also a back-replication of all changes carried out by the user in off-line mode.
